Welcome to my Notebook!
One of the things I wanted to explore starting the fall of 2023, while I was in the midst of my very first internship, was an outlet for designing that was more physical as I stepped further away from mediums that had me working away from a screen.
Collecting memories and calligraphy and water coloring and having a journal at all brings me closer to the person I was when I was a child, a dreamer.
As cliché as it sounds, that is who I want to be in any walk of life I might represent; both in my professional and personal appearances. I want the work I put out for my personal art accounts to reflect whimsical and playful styles and it is what I want to consider thematically even as I continue to grow.
When I was first exploring art when I was a teen, early in my high school years, one of the mediums I first began with, besides hand lettering, was water coloring. Surprisingly, I hadn’t touched water colors since then and I had recently rediscovered my love for it after finding water color paper in the Traveler’s Notebook insert options!
One of my favorite hobbies as of this year would have to be journaling! Originally, I attempted to bullet journal but the routine of a bujo was never really for someone who preferred a bit more chaos like me. In my own way, this was my outlet for collecting my memories and all the cute things inbetween.
I just recently finished my first ever journal this past September! These are two spreads from that journal! Unfortunately, the pages are a bit warped and well loved so the scans were not the greatest but I plan to add more as time passes!
Artist Cards! A new form of art I was shown by a friend recently as we were journaling together! The video above I actually made as a tutorial for my friends who aren’t in creative industries to join our trading card making addiction.
